Wordpress 2.7 Beta 1 has been launched!
Posted on November 3, 2008, under Blogging, Technology, Web Development.
As many of you know, Wordpress Developers team has been working on the release of the new version of our favorite blogging system - Wordpress 2.7.
A couple of days ago, Ryan Boren from Wordpress.org announced the release of the first public beta of Wordpress 2.7. Apparently, the official release won’t be available on November 10th as it was originally schedule since they’re still working on the visual design and need to do some tests before launching it. Expect it to be ready by late Nov - early Dec.
I don’t know about you, but I am downloading this to test it on my local web server! I can’t wait to see what’s new! If possible, I’ll write a small review about Wordpress 2.7 including some screen captures and maybe (again, maybe) some videos.
You can get Wordpress 2.7 Beta 1 Beta 2 here here.
Yay! I’m already excited about Wordpress 2.7!
UPDATE: I’ve downloaded Wordpress 2.7 Beta 1 and it looks quite promising! I’ll be posting a review about Wordpress 2.7 by weekend. Stay tuned!
UPDATE II: Wordpress 2.7 Beta 2 has been released faster than I expected :S I guess I’ll have to rewrite my review ![]()
Wordpress 2.6.1 is released!
Posted on August 15, 2008, under Internet, Technology.
Hi peeps,
Today, a new version of our beloved blogging system has been released! According to Ryan Boren (lead developer of Wordpress), this release includes a number of improvements for international users, a fix for several permalink issues on blogs hosted under IIS (Windows’ Internet Information Services), and some other enhancements. Apparently, there’s no need to upgrade to 2.6.1 if you’re not facing any problems with WP 2.6.

Wordpress v2.5.1… this is getting annoying
Posted on April 29, 2008, under Blogging, Web Development.
Hi guys,
As some of you out there must know by now, a few days ago the Wordpress team released a new version of their famous blog script. The reason? Apparently, an important security bug was found and requires an inmediate update to WP’s latest version: 2.5.1. Here’s a note published by the WP developer team about this issue:
Version 2.5.1 of WordPress is now available. It includes a number of bug fixes, performance enhancements, and one very important security fix. We recommend everyone update immediately, particularly if your blog has open registration.
However, you must be aware that Wordpress 2.5.0 was released a few days ago too! I just had upgraded my Wp version to 2.5 and now they’ve released 2.5.1. I don’t mean to be ungrateful on any ways and I’m aware that they did it because of a security issue but why didn’t they found about it earlier? They spent 6 months developing Wordpress 2.5 and now in less than a week I had to go through the upgrade process again.
This is getting annoying…
