Hi guys,

As some of you out there must know by now, a few days ago the Wordpress team released a new version of their famous blog script. The reason? Apparently, an important security bug was found and requires an inmediate update to WP’s latest version: 2.5.1. Here’s a note published by the WP developer team about this issue:

Version 2.5.1 of WordPress is now available. It includes a number of bug fixes, performance enhancements, and one very important security fix. We recommend everyone update immediately, particularly if your blog has open registration.

However, you must be aware that Wordpress 2.5.0 was released a few days ago too! I just had upgraded my Wp version to 2.5 and now they’ve released 2.5.1. I don’t mean to be ungrateful on any ways and I’m aware that they did it because of a security issue but why didn’t they found about it earlier? They spent 6 months developing Wordpress 2.5 and now in less than a week I had to go through the upgrade process again.

This is getting annoying…

I’ve also asked that question to myself before so I’m not very surprised to find people with the same doubts. No one teaches you about the importance of having your sites validated. Read more »
