Spam Marketing - May God be with us

Hey guys,

I’m sure that most of you (like me) are feeling annoyed and really pissed off about spam. It’s everywhere: in your inbox, in your blog posts, in your forums and even in your cellphone as an SMS :S Why is this happening?

Spam Marketing is a dark marketing technique. It’s a complex business model that takes advantage of any communicational media to spread their products/ideas to others. It’s everywhere: emails, forums, blogs, news groups, even tags board are being filled with spam every second of every day!

There are lots of great marketing techniques that guarantee maximum exposure (like Viral Marketing) so, why use the Spam Marketing tactic? The answer is simple: money. Spam Marketing is by far the cheapest way to reach a determined segment of the population. All you need to do is pay someone desperate for money to spread your message all around the world in exchange for a few cents. Evil, but effective.

How can they make money by spamming?” Yeah, I also asked myself this question. I’m afraid that I can’t answer that right now but then again: do you think that spamming isn’t profitable at all? If it wasn’t then spam wouldn’t exist. How do they make money out of it? It remains a mistery to me.

I’m afraid that this technique won’t be dissapearing any time soon so all we can expect is to continue getting spam. May God be with us.

  1. Great Post Ikki!
Since my forum is a lot new, I am not getting too much SPAM. But you can see Akismet telling 53 SPAM comments on your blog.
That is annoying. Really. SPAM MARKETING is a big black hat technique but anyone who tries to market a website with that, won’t get much( if any) “visitors” to it.
I am telling that because you wont like to visit a site of a person who is bugging you all the time. Otherwise, SPAM MARKETING would get a lot of attention in a short span of time.
It would be a devil technique to implement though. It will never get you positive reputation in the industry. Maybe, you will get some traffic.
    Great Share!

  4. @Thanoz: I believe that the best way to fight back this disease is by not paying attention to it and tell people about spam. Prevention, my friend, is a powerful weapon against many problems in life.
