Hi peeps,
Finding backlinks to you is one of the most difficult SEO tasks to accomplish when building a site. Link building is absolutely necessary in order to drive traffic into your page, gain a higher positioning on search engines and make yourself an authority on your niche. Today I’ll share with you some tips to pimp your site and make your link building journey easier
- Let Web Directories know about you: there are dozens of web directories out there but I would recommend you to submit your sites to places like Yahoo’s Directory, DMOZ, BlogWise, Open Site, etc.
- Social Bookmarking sites, a powerful weapon: sites like Digg.com, Del.icio.us, Technorati, StumbleUpon, Mixx.com, etc. can drive a huge amount of visitors to your sites if your submissions are good and you post regularly (also please be aware that posting too frecuently into those sites could be considered as Spam by them, so be careful!). Keep an eye on this one!
- Go Reciprocal: don’t be shy. Contact other webmasters and ask them to put a link to your site on theirs. Tell them why you like that site and how a backlink to yours will brings benefits to you both.
- Submit your articles: becoming an author gives you authority, therefore people will come to you if they need to know something related to your field. Placing your articles in high PR and high traffic sites will give you great results, and fast. You can submit your work to sites like allfreelancework.com.
- Commenting on different ‘do-follow’ blogs/forums also help much. (Thanks Swastik!)
- Start a contest: if your budget allows it, give something away to your visitors. In exchange, you could ask them to spread the word about you and your competition. That would get you a lot of genuine backlinks!
- Everyone likes Freebies: give away something nice to your visitors every now and then (eg. wallpapers, graphics, templates, etc.) In exchange, ask them to place a backlink in every site they use it! (Thanks again, Swastik!)
- Directories, an old known traffic source!: submitting your site(s) to directories is by far the most boring and painful link building task. However, directories will provide you with some consistent traffic in the long term. It’s a fact. You should give it a try
(or ask someone else to do the job for you)
Hope that helps

Good one, Hector!
Just one question. You say that if we post regularly in Social networking sites, we will drive a good traffic (if not huge). What do you mean by posts? I mean just submitting your stories, images, videos, websites etc or something else. And if you mean the former one, I think that one will get banned if he posts too frequently!

Hi Swastik,
When I said “post regularly” I meant like creating new entries every now and then. 3-4 entries per week are good enough.
I agree with you about posting too frequently. It can get you banned real fast! Thanks for pointing that out, I will edit my entry and add a warning about it.

Hiya Ikki,
Missed your blog. Some more things you could add :
1) Writing out a good article related to your niche. And then send it to some of the good/famous sites to publish as a guest post. If they do, you’ll have a great backlink. If they dont, you wont die
2)Commenting on different ‘do-follow’ blogs/forums also help much.
